Questions and Answers

Is this mattress any good for a slatted bed frame base?

This mattress is perfect for a slatted bed base in fact a slatted bed base is the best suiter. This will give good air circulation to the mattress this is best due to the memory foam material used inside the mattress. A slatted base would provide support to the mattress whether sprung or solid it's still a good foundation. This mattress is also a medium tension so there's lot's of give on the foundation which will effect it but not too much. For instance you wouldn't want a firm mattress on a sprung slatted base as this would make the mattress softer and usually when buying a firm mattress your going to need a firmer support that's the point of the buy.

Can you buy fitted bedsheets for this mattress?

We would recommend buying sheets when you get the mattress in your home. Make sure to check the depth of the mattress this is 25.4cm in depth speak to the bedding supplier before making the purchase that the bedsheets going to fit correctly. You would want a sheet that's going to stretch so an elasticated surround would be a good idea. You can buy mattress protectors to go underneath the bedsheet this will add protection to the mattress and add life-span. Make sure to buy the correct size bedding like duvets and pillows check the measurements on the products.

Why has this mattress got buttons on the top?

The buttons are hand tufts this will keep the materials in place. The craftsman when making the mattress sew tufts into the top of the mattress this also helps with support on the top layer. This also makes the mattress stay in better shape for the duration of use. Hand tufting is sign that a mattress is quality and hand made by the manufacturer. This can be done on both sides of a mattress or one the stitches usually come from side on then into the top of the mattress this just holds everything together. There's also stitching on the side of the Bedmaster Memory Maestro Mattress this helps the sleeper use the full width of the mattress and fights against corrosion at the sides.
